You can:
Utilize domestic violence advocacy organization as sources whenever covering domestic violence stories.
Avoid headlines and coverage that implicates victims in their own abuse or death.
Avoid portraying family violence as “conflict.”
Always run the statewide hotline number, 800-33-HAVEN, with stories on domestic violence. Your story may be the only way victims in your community learn there is help available.
